Anyone that's a fan of The Legend of Zelda would recognize this image. I tried to recreate the artwork from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past showing the Master Sword in its stone pedestal deep within the Lost Woods.

For years I tried to recreate this scene off and on in 3D, pencil sketch and other mediums without much success (or rather, to my liking). I think I've finally done it.

You can see more detail and info for the stone pedestal and sword here: [link]

-edit-
I know more recent versions of the Master Sword have a blue hilt. In the original art the handle was red.

This is an incredible piece of work. It almost casts the illusion that you are actually there, seeing through Link's eyes. Amazing! :w00t:

Thank you!

When I did this, I mostly wanted to do a more 'realistic' version of the book art from A Link to the Past. What surprises me is that I did this five years ago and it's still getting some attention.

That... Is amazing. Seriously, just... Wow... It's awesome how you took the time to add the writing on the pedestal and everything. Zelda Fangirling commence!

Thank you! I had a good source image to work off of. The rest of it was just recreating that original scene in a new, digital medium.
